The best advice I’ve gotten as a mom is to outsource. We do this all the time at work. We engage and empower our teams. We consistently assess what needs to be accomplished. How often do we do this in our personal life?
It has been super helpful for me to take an objective look at how I spend my time. It helps me to align my overall goals for the year, quarter, month, and week with how I am actually spending my days. We all have an idea of what we want to accomplish. Sometimes it can be a challenge for us to get there because we have competing priorities and responsibilities.
We have a chance to operate in our personal lives as smoothly as we move in our professional careers. What must you do now? What can you do later? Is there someone who can do it better than you (reality check!)? Is there someone who can do it well enough to add value to your life because they have freed up your time (release!)? I talk more about this in my Leadership & Lifestyle master class and have some free tips for you.
We cannot do it all. We cannot control it all. True progress and growth comes when we can invest in and equip others to help us work toward our mission. No one is out here doing this life alone. We are better together. Accepting help, hiring help, is mandatory to go to the next level.
