I spend my time working hard for wellness, but I love getting girly. I wanted to share some of my fluff and puff favorites with you. I wish I could take credit for this fun phrase, but I owe credit to a nice lady I met in the bathroom during one of my health travels.
Sometimes we don’t know how to do the part, but we can at least show up and look the part. Our appearance sends a message. Our style can convey confidence and even activism.
My favorite fluff and puff accessories are by far lipstick, glosses, and eyeshadows. I also love a good pant, heel, and ruffled type of shirt. I have all of these on, I feel like I can face the day on mission, on purpose.
Skincare is the best foundation. After that, I love a matte or liquid lipstick from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Bobbi Brown offers some creamy lip formulas that I love too. Chanel had a nice gold twist-up cream stick for summer that was discontinued, I looked everywhere. Tag me on social if you find it! I easily have 20 lipsticks in varying shades of brown. I’m a nude girl with occasional pops of color. MAC eye shadow is my fave. So many options! It does not require a lot to enhance our own real beauty.
For clothes, I try to be budget wise and shop at Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth. I’ll even get a good item from Amazon if it has good reviews, lots of reviews, and customer photos. It’s not about the price, it’s about our attitude wearing it, right?
Caring about our appearance is not just superficial. Sometimes that’s all we have to pick ourselves up for the day. Self-care is multi-dimensional, and physical care is certainly part of it. What makes you feel ready for the day? Fluff and puff away, ladies. It’s key for our own wellbeing.
