Dr. Jennifer Edwards brings 15 years of public health, convening, and strategic planning experience to her professional work. She has a passion for data-inspired program innovation and bringing colleagues together to co-create meaningful dialogue on priority issues. She values the chance to lead high-performing teams that collectively deliver value and impact. Jennifer has expert-level capability in developing actionable strategy, learning design and development, applied public health research, and convening.
A sociomedical scientist by training and trade, Jennifer has led CDC, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and HRSA-funded projects as Principal Investigator. Some of her federal project contributions include evaluating the National Coordinating Center for Public Health Training, designing the evaluation for the Project Firstline COVID-19 Infection Control National Training Collaborative, and leading clinical outcomes evaluations. She has served on committees to plan national and local professional meetings, co-led Dallas County’s community health assessment in support of public health accreditation, and facilitated various national learning communities. Jennifer also previously received NIH-sponsored research training.
Jennifer has engaged in strategic planning efforts for national healthcare organizations including the American College of Physicians, National Osteoporosis Foundation, and the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy as a consultant. Jennifer also had an opportunity to write U.S. presidential appointee testimony submitted to the Congressional Record and has served as a committee co-chair for a World Health Organization (WHO) non-state actor.
Passionate about service and equipping others, Jennifer served on undergraduate public health and graduate health sciences research faculty for 10 years. She also created The Conscious Clinician Experience™, continuing education training and support tools facilitating culturally responsive patient-centered care. Jennifer is a speaker and reviewer for five national journals including Public Health Reports, the peer-reviewed journal of the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office.
She is creator of Live Well, a women’s empowerment brand dedicated to helping women mindfully live, mindfully lead, and mindfully build a legacy. She offers supportive training experiences to help women optimize advancement in the workplace and entrepreneurship through mindful performance while effectively managing inevitable stressors. She helps women become engaged and refreshed family contributors as evidenced by her resources on wellness and financial freedom to live well.
Jennifer earned a Ph.D. in Health Communication & Culture; and earned a Graduate Certificate in International Studies from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Florida A&M University.
